Passports:
US Citizens  and EU Nationals must present a valid passport that will not expire for at least 30 days after arrival. You could be denied entry if your passport is damaged in any way. It must be in good condition.

You are permitted to carry photocopies of the passport data page and Costa Rican entry stamp on you and leave your original passport in a hotel safe or other secure place.

Medical Care
Private Medical care in San Jose is very good, but may be more limited in areas outside of San Jose. You are likely to be able to find most prescription and over-the-counter medications available in San Jose. Expect to pay immediately in cash for services. Don’t forget to purchase Travel Insurance before you leave, your country.
U.S. medical insurance is not always valid outside the U.S. You may want to check with your insurance company before you leave.

Air Transportation
The Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) is located in Northern Costa Rica, in the province of Guanacaste. It is the second international airport in Costa Rica, the other one being the Jose Santamaria Airport in San Jose. The closest city to the Daniel Oduber airport is Liberia, Guanacaste's capital. The Liberia, Costa Rica airport is the ideal airport for visitors that are planning to explore and bask in the sunny and sandy beaches of Costa Rica’s golden coast.
