in the New World Tropics.

Tropical American Tree Farms
Tropical American Tree FarmsTropical American Tree Farms is proud to be a part of the solution to tropical deforestation. Our team of professional tropical foresters, nurserymen and technicians have converted 14 former cattle farms in Costa Rica into tropical hardwood tree farms. Our farms cover more than 13,000 acres, a little more than .1% of the country of Costa Rica. Land that until a generation ago was covered with tropical rainforest, before the former owners cleared it to graze cattle, is once again covered with tropical trees. Only this time the trees are carefully selected tropical hardwood species, hand-planted in neat rows, and being pruned, cared for, and groomed for harvest. We have now planted more than 2 million tropical
hardwood trees that will produce more than 100 million board feet of precious tropical hardwoods over the next 25 years. |
